Jason Robertson is a left winger who plays ice hockey professionally for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League in the United States (NHL). During the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Stars selected him in the second round, picking him up at the 39th overall spot.
Robertson was born in Arcadia, California, but his family moved him to Northville, Michigan, when he was 10 years old in order to provide him with more possibilities to play ice hockey. Before being selected by the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League in 2015, he honed his ice hockey skills in Michigan with the Little Caesars and the Detroit Kings minor ice hockey teams.
In his first season with Kingston, Robertson scored 18 goals, which was the most goals scored by any rookie since Anthony Stewart. In the following two seasons, he went on to become the first Frontenac to record back-to-back 40-goal seasons since Mike Zigomanis.
During the 2018–19 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season, which Robertson was playing in before being traded to the Niagara IceDogs, he amassed 117 points in 62 games, which earned him the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as well as the CHL Top Scorer Award.
