Kris Wu was born on November 6, 1990 in Guangzhou, China as Li Jiaheng. After his parents' separation while he was a little child, his mother was responsible for his upbringing and care. When he was 10 years old, he and his mother uprooted their lives and relocated to Vancouver in Canada.
