Satya Pal Malik Political Career

Satya Pal Malik is an Indian politician who was born on July 24, 1946.He served as the last Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, from August 2018 to October 2019, and it was during his tenure that revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was taken on 5 August 2019. Later, he became the 18th governor of Goa. After that, he became the 21st governor of Meghalaya and stayed there until October 2022.

As a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1977, he made a name for himself as a leader for the first time. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1986 and again from 1986 to 1989. From 1989 to 1991, he represented Aligarh in the 9th Lok Sabha as a member of the Janata Dal.
