In 1995, Brockway completed his training to become a weather forecaster and was then assigned to work at the Birmingham Weather Centre. He broadcasted on a number of BBC Radio stations located throughout the English Midlands.
After relocating to London in December 1995, he began working at The London Studios on South Bank alongside colleagues weather forecasters Martyn Davies and John Hammond. He was also responsible for briefing weather presenters Sian Lloyd, Laura Greene, and Femi Oke.
Brockway also broadcast on GMTV's The Sunday Programme, which was hosted by Alastair Stewart and Steve Richards. Brockway was responsible for preparing the weather for both ITV National Weather and Channel 4 Weather. After living in London for a year, Brockway relocated to Bracknell, where he began working as an environmental consultant at the headquarters of the Met Office.
He relocated back to Wales in September 1997 and began working for BBC Wales Today. He took over for Helen Willetts as the primary weather forecaster and was responsible for the afternoon, evening, and late-night broadcasts. In addition to that, he is the one who delivers the daily weather bulletins for BBC Radio Wales from Monday through Friday.
In 2008, the weather department of BBC Wales expanded, and Brockway was joined by two new weather presenters, Sue Charles and Behnaz Akhgar.
